With more than 22 years of expertise in commercial real estate and development, Aaron has financed more than $300M in projects in Charleston and the coastal carolinas. Aaron’s history in finance began in 2001 when he worked as a commercial banker at prominent companies including TD Bank and RBC, where he oversaw teams that generated and organized large scale real estate debt financing. As the President and Founder of First Capital Bank, he would later raise $30M before making a successful exit to devote himself full-time to private equity and real estate development. Aaron is a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs across multifaceted industries. Aaron established Alpas Development and Center State Partners in 2018. The companies concentrated on Class A industrial and multi-family projects in key southeast locations with substantial job growth. He oversaw the financing and development of a $20M Class A warehouse complex in the Charleston area. Later, he helped find the site and coordinated the development of a 260-unit garden style multi-family project in Greer, South Carolina, which broke ground in 2021. Aaron received a BA from Clemson University and a Graduate Certificate on Banking and Finance from the Wharton School of Business.
John D. Cattano established Portage Real Estate, LLC in 2020 to capitalize on the housing market supply shortage in secondary and tertiary markets in the US. For more than twenty years, John has worked in the fields of finance, investment banking, private equity, business operations, real estate development, and start-up company growth strategy. John earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and History at Hampden-Sydney College, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University.
